Sociologist, Bernard McGrane has said, "Sociology is not the seeing of a new thing, but rather a new way of seeing." Throughout the course, you will begin to examine your everyday life through the contexts that you will study. This forum will provide you with the opportunity to take the information that you have learned in class and apply it to your own life. Our society is made up of numerous components that have influence you and the people that live in your social world: culture, gender, race, social status, technology, media, etc. As you begin to take and active role in this course, you will begin to unravel a "new way of seeing" the real world.
